According to the doctor, any disease that causes lung damage will be more severe in smokers. It’s all to blame for the constant exposure to nicotine. So COVID-19 is no exception. At the same time, the doctor of sciences noted that the symptoms of the disease in adherents of tobacco products can be even less pronounced than in those who do not smoke.
“As for the acute period, that is, fever, decreased appetite, muscle pain, this may be less pronounced, but the damage to the respiratory system will be more pronounced. Therefore, they end up in a hospital in a more serious condition, ”Kozhevnikova said.
