Professor Yves Buisson, epidemiologist, gives his answer regarding the survival of the Covid-19 virus in the air. The virus cannot stay in the air, or in an extremely limited way, temporarily and in a confined space. The virus disperses and disappears in the air, thanks to the wind. In addition, the envelope of the new coronavirus is fragile, because it is destroyed when it is subjected to conditions of desiccation, such as ultra-violet radiation, coming from the sun. 

The mode of transmission of the Sars-Cov-2 virus is mainly by postilions, from one person to another. It can also be transmitted via contaminated surfaces. Studies have been carried out to find out the possibility of air contamination. However, the risk would be rather low. The potential danger would be present in closed areas with poor ventilation.
