The self-isolation regime introduced by Russian President Vladimir Putin is valid until April 30 (minimum). Russian virologist Anatoly Alshtein told how the country will get out of this regime. According to the professor, it will be very difficult.

Alshtein believes that the abolition of self-isolation cannot be equated with the return of the country to its usual rhythm of life. Most likely, the lifting of the regime will take place in several stages, and for certain categories of the population the requirement not to leave their homes will remain in force indefinitely.

“Ending the epidemic may not be abrupt and complete. Some “tails” will remain. It will be necessary to diagnose people, to conduct a partial self-isolation regime for certain categories, ”said the virologist.

Note that Gennady Onishchenko, the former chief sanitary doctor of Russia, is not sure that the coronavirus epidemic will decline by the end of April.

“We will finish with this problem when the last patient recovers and another 14 days have passed since the end of this period. Let’s not set a specific date, but work, ”Onishchenko said.

Meanwhile, the development of the situation with the spread of coronavirus in Russia no longer follows the “optimistic” scenario. This was noted by Larisa Popovich, Director of the Institute for Health Economics at the Higher School of Economics.

According to the latest data, more than 18,3 thousand cases of infection have already been recorded in Russia. Over the past day, 2 people have been added.
